Love pumpkin spice lattes? Can’t wait until the Fall in Boston to try new delicious autumn inspired treats? Love maple and seasonal flavors? Read on!
Our friend and former guide Evan created a delightful Pumpkin Food Tour in Boston. For the past three years, Evan has organized a route for his friends to try different pumpkin-themed foods to both celebrate the season and see what local restaurants are doing creatively with our favorite gourd.
Cambridge/Somerville Pumpkin Food Tour:
Stop 1: Cafe Beatrice
The first stop on the pumpkin food tour is at Cafe Beatrice for Pumpkin Grilled Cheese! Another delicious item here is their maple kouign amann.
Stop 2: Curio Coffee
Polish off a Pumpkin chai spice waffle at Curio Coffee next — we think their liege waffle is incredible as well! You can pop into Elmendorf Baking on the way to the next stop and check out their baking accessories, in-house milled flour, and yummy eats.
Stop 3: Christina’s Ice Cream
An Inman Square staple, you’ll love their Pumpkin ice cream! Close your eyes and enjoy the amazing aromas when you walk in – also check out their spice store, which has a jaw-dropping collection of spices and sauces from around the world. If you have time, visit Gather Here, a craft store brimming with colors and textures.
Stop 4: Juliet
We visit Union Square on our Saturday Union Square Food Tour – and Juliet is a wonderful restaurant there. Depending on your mood, try their Pumpkin spice latte and/or Salted maple latte!
Stop 5: Aeronaut Brewing
Ready to close out the day and miles of walking? Settle in at Aeronaut and enjoy their Something Wicked pumpkin brown ale. You may also want to stop in Carolicious, a Venezuelan food stand inside of Aeronaut, for some fantastic arepas to provide a savory snack.
Although it’s a bit of a walk, you can also head over to the Helmand for their yummy roasted kaddo pumpkin appetizer. And visit Lexington’s Wilson Farm to pick up a multi-colored pumpkin from pink to blue to green to black.
