Boston MeetUp Ideas

Here in Massachusetts, there are lots of active and social people who are looking for fun activities and ways to meet others in Boston. Joining MeetUp.com is a great way to meet new friends and activity partners. Sam and I once ran a MeetUp in Somerville, and we love partnering with MeetUp organizers in Boston.

We have hosted a number of Boston MeetUp groups on our tours. Here are some FAQs regarding hosting a Boston MeetUp with Off The Beaten Path Food Tours.

1

Plan ahead

Our tours tend to sell out, so if you email us and let us know which tour you’re interested in reserving for the MeetUp, we can either close the tour to booking through a special link just for your group or take our chances and tell your guests in the MeetUp which time and day to book well in advance on a public tour if you’re not sure it’s going to sell out.

2

Chocolate Tours are a great value

If your MeetUp group is cost conscious, our chocolate tours are a lower price than our food tours although the value is the same. On our food tours, you’ll be with us for longer and also will consume a lot more and greater variety of food.

3

Special interests

With enough time, we are able to research and bring into the tour special facts related to your group. So please let us know of a special theme or interest, and we will work to incorporate some special surprises along the way.

3

Trivia Nights

Of course we’d love it if you joined our Free Local Foodie Trivia Nights at Remnant Brewery in Somerville which is every other Monday night. Trivia Nights are really fun for Meetups because people can show up whenever they want and order whatever food or appetizer or just drinks and not feel pressured to make it on time for a dinner event.

4

Brewery Hangouts and Happy Hours

Some of our favorite local breweries to just relax and hang out in include: Remnant Brewery, Bantam Cider, Aeronaut Brewery, Turtle Swamp Brewery, Idle Hands, and Trillium. Pick a brewery with a wide open space and open seating (Turtle Swamp even has games) so you can fit all who show up.

5

Games Event

We love Knight Moves games cafe because there’s lots of opportunities to relax and enjoy new board games in a no-pressure environment. In fact, we recently learned how to play the game Splendor at Knight Moves and became so excited about it that we purchased the game and continue to play it with other couples.

6

Outdoor Events in Boston

Pick a meeting spot and have guests tag along on an urban outdoor adventure such as picking up some hot chocolate on Newbury Street and walking through the Boston Common or seeing an outdoor movie at the Hatch Shell. Other areas of the city that are good for outdoor events include the Lawn on D and also the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

7

Food Truck Hopping

Explore local Boston food trucks and host a picnic with your Meetup group in Boston. You may want to try one dessert and one savory food truck option.

Whatever you do, we hope that you have a lot of fun and adventure! We hope to host your Boston MeetUp group soon for a Food Tour or Chocolate Tour in Massachusetts.
