Best Sandwiches in Boston and Cambridge

Looking for the best sandwiches in Boston, Boston delis, Gourmet sandwiches in Boston, Boston lunch spots, and Iconic Boston eateries? We got you covered!

1

Cutty’s (Brookline, Boston, MA)

Our love affair with Cutty’s started years ago on their Sunday fried chicken sandwich days. From the bread to the pickle to the salty fried chicken, we were sold. You’ll love everything from the homemade bun to the delicate chips.

2

Rami’s (Brookline, Boston, MA)

Head down Harvard Street for the best falafel in Boston, and you’ll find this delicious eatery that has everything from turkey shawarma to plates of hummus and cucumber and tomato salad. Their pita is also the best in Boston — b’tai avon!

3

All Star Sandwich Bar (Inman Square, Cambridge, MA)

From their meatloaf sandwich to their veggie cubano to their tuna melt, it’s all good in this quirky local shop. Afterwards, take a stroll around Inman Square and pop into Christina’s for some interesting flavored ice cream. It’s a huge staple in the area!

4

Pemberton Farm Deli (Porter Square, Cambridge, MA)

Not many grocery store markets deliver their sandwiches, but there’s a reason that Pemberton does and that’s because demand is high for one of their freshly made sandwiches. We are partial to their egg salad or their mozzarella, tomato, basil. Yum, yum!

5

Saloniki (Boston and Cambridge, MA)

One of our favorite stops on our Cambridge food, chocolate, and donut tours is at Saloniki — a restaurant started by Chef Jodi Adams which embraces the delicious mediterranean flavors of Greece. We enjoy their souvlaki so much but are always tempted to order more sides, lemonade, and dessert! Dig in!

6

Michael’s Deli (Brookline, MA)

The owner couldn’t be nicer, and the food more delicious than at this hole in the wall in Brookline. Again in a Boston sandwich cluster, you’ll find everything from knishes to reubens to smoked turkey and all the sides — don’t sweat the calories, order extra for a late night snack!

7

Roxy’s Grilled Cheese (Central Square, Cambridge, MA)

One of our favorite guilty pleasures is the Boston sandwich grilled cheese at Roxy’s, dipped in tomato soup with their fries. If you’re really indulging, try their milkshake to accompany!

8

Bricco Salumeria Pasta Shop (North End, Boston, MA)

This North End Pasta shop and deli is on our list of our Favorite North End Restaurants in Boston. Everything is so delicious from the chicken parmagiano to the Panino – – enjoy!

9

Sofra (Allston and Watertown, Boston, MA)

This Mediterranean spot uses all kinds of unique spices sourced globally to create everything from delicious chicken shawarma to spinach falafel. Bet you can’t walk out without trying at least one drink or mezze or pastry as well!

10

Bahn Mi (Various in Boston, MA)

It’s overwhelming to list here, but we have a separate blog post on the Best Vietnamese Food in Boston where we detail our very favorite Bahn Mi in Boston — from Dorchester to Lowell!

Rancatore’s Ice Cream Sandwich (Lexington, MA)

Okay, does ice cream count? This neighborhood ice cream hot spot makes any of its ice cream into chocolate crispy cookie ice cream sandwich – for a true chocoholic, you can enjoy their bittersweet chocolate with chocolate cookie crust. It’s all so good! Closer to the city, check out the taco Tuesday ice cream sandwiches at Honeycomb Creamery to polish off your lunch.

And of course, don’t forget to try these on our weekly food tours!
