Then don’t miss this exciting tour of Jamaica Plain (or “JP” to the locals)! It’s a well-known fact that JP has some of the tastiest and freshest food in Boston, but is off the beaten path from popular tourist destinations such as nearby Fenway Park. In fact, some JP residents want to keep it that way, and this tight-knit community is definitely keen on preserving the neighborly feel.
Originally part of Roxbury, Jamaica Plain was first home to wealthy and middle class residents who wanted to summer or live outside of the city where they worked. As the decades passed, JP became known for the birthplace of America’s first craft beer, Sam Adams, which is still brewed here today.
On this exciting tour, our local guides will share the most delicious food on Centre Street while sharing tidbits about JP’s history, including its connection to Moxie and famous local residents.
If you have to cancel, at least 48 hours notice before the tour start time is required in order to receive a refund back to the original payment method. Guests requesting a refund less than 48 hours prior to the tour start time cannot be refunded or rescheduled due to advanced preparation and scheduling commitments for each tour. Guests who arrive late or don’t show will also not be refunded or rescheduled. Should we have to cancel a tour, you’ll be refunded in full.

Customer Food Tour Reviews
Went on the Jamaica Plain food tour and had an amazing time! It was a really fun afternoon spent walking around a new area and trying some absolutely delicious food! I highly recommend to individuals, couples, and families. The tour guide was awesome and shared a lot of cool historical facts and tips about JP. Everyone on the tour was super friendly and it was great to meet some new people. The food was definitely the highlight and was well spaced out so that you had a beverage, appetizers, more main course type dishes, and dessert. I left very full and enjoying some foods I had not tried before! Will be going back to JP very soon and I definitely will take another Off The Beaten Path Food Tour when we have visitors coming in May.

Before I say anything else, let me say: do this! Now, to go into more detail, I don’t want to reveal all of the stops on the tour, but we did meet at any easy starting spot. I checked in with our tour guide. She ended up being a great resource and was so much fun to learn about and from on our tour. We made five stops on this tour, and I can tell you I never would have been to these five places if it weren’t for this tour… But I’m so glad I got to go them! Each was unique, and each was delicious. We had PLENTY of food, but not to the point where I ate so much I felt sick or anything like that. I even tried a food I had never had even heard of! It was just all so good! Also, the other people on my tour were AWESOME. As I was doing this alone and from out of town, they were all so kind and fun! I truly loved the JP tour and would so happily do one of their other tours! This is something great to do with friends or alone (like me). I got to meet great people, explore a neighborhood (unfamiliar to me), and eat delicious foods! I highly recommend this!

My girlfriend and I just recently moved to Boston, and went on the Jamaica Plain food tour as a way to get to know the neighborhood. We had never been on a food tour before, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but this one set the bar high! The guide was friendly and effective, and had all sorts of interesting facts about the neighborhood. It was a great way to get to know the neighborhood while sampling different restaurants that we definitely plan to return to. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to learn more about JP, or just try some delicious food outside the everyday norm.
